Angie studied acupuncture and traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the UK and graduated from the London School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1989. She was in practice for 8 years before coming to Seattle in 1997 to join the teaching faculty of the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NIAOM). Alongside her teaching she studied Chinese Herbal Medicine and received her Masters Degree in Acupuncture in 2002 from NIAOM. In the fall of 2002 she joined the Bastyr University clinic and didactic Faculty and at present continues to supervise the students of Bastyr's acupuncture program as they rotate through her clinics in Seattle. Her teaching specialty is geriatric medicine and in particular, the treatment of stroke survivors, although she has extensive clinical experience in the following areas: women's health and cancer, chemical dependency, and geriatric/end of life care.
Angie has moved her practice from West Seattle to a beautiful and cool new location in the heart of Columbia City in South Seattle. She no longer takes insurance but is focussing on community medicine and making acupuncture affordable and accessible to all people regardless of financial status. Angie has joined the 'working class acupuncture' movement that has been sweeping the country, which, in line with the 'healthcare for all' concept, brings acupuncture to everyone on a sliding scale between $15.00 - $45.00. These low cost acupuncture clinics provide treatment for those of us who have lost our health insurance benefits or whose health insurance only allows a certain amount of visits as well as the millions of uninsured people accross the country.
